Which breeds does the club cover?

The club covers big-running pointing dogs — Pointer, English Setter, Irish Setter, Irish Red and White Setter, Gordon Setter — and other British gundogs. These are the breeds that compete at its shows and field trials.

What does “grande cerca” (დიდი ძებნა) mean?

Grande cerca — “the big search” — is the field-trial category in which a dog quarters a large area at speed and independently, finds game birds and points them. It is the style pointers and setters are bred and judged for.

How do I become a member?

Applications are submitted on the Membership page of this site. Annual dues are 120 GEL. Membership entitles you to register dogs, create a kennel and take part in club events.

Where can I see a dog’s pedigree?

In the dog registry: every registered dog has a five-generation pedigree tree, its titles, show and field-trial results, kennel and owner.

When was the club founded?

On 16 February 2011 in Tbilisi, as the Georgian Pointer Club; in 2020, as interest in the other British breeds grew, it was renamed the Pointer-Setter Club of Georgia.
